Great Circus Parade and Festival

The Great Circus Parade and Festival is back this week celebrating the splendor and pageantry of the old-time circus parades of more than a century ago. The festival runs through Saturday at Veteran's Park and the parade takes place on the streets of downtown Milwaukee this Sunday. Located at 135 W. Wells St. the structure was built as the headquarters for Die Germania the world's largest German-language newspaper at the time.

MKEimages.com Image of the Day - It may be a simple streetlight, but this lamp located across from the North Point Watertower is actually a Milwaukee Harp Luminaire. Designed by Vaughn, Meyer, & Sweet in 1915 it is part of Milwaukee's first municipally owned and operated street lighting system and was designated as a Milwaukee landmark in 1975.

While standing in line waiting to purchase a bottle of water ($3.75 ea.) we snapped this shot of the menu at a concession stand at Miller Park last evening. We thought it was interesting that one of our photographers had purchased a case (24) of the same bottle size this past weekend for $2.89 at a Kwik Trip. We will let you figure the math.
