Lighthouse Digest

We would like to congratulate MKEimages.com photographer for placing 2nd (Best View of any Off Shore Lighthouse category) with his image of the Milwaukee Breakwater Lighthouse (shown) in the Lighthouse Digest 15th Annual Photo Contest. He also took a 3rd place (Best View of any Lighthouse in the Wintertime category) with a shot of the Port Washington Old Lighthouse. The contest receives thousands of entries from lighthouse enthusiasts worldwide each year.

MKEimages.com Image of the Day - Built in 1926 the Milwaukee Breakwater Lighthouse was one of the last constructed on the Great Lakes and at one time actually had a manned crew. While not in use too much in the Winter it certainly is a welcome delight for boaters for the rest of the season.

North Point Lighthouse

MKEimages.com Image of the Day - Decoratedfor the holidays, Milwaukee North Point Lighthouse has been a fixture in the Lake Park neighborhood on Milwaukee's East side since 1855. At one time a working lighthouse over the years for various reasons the light was turned off and it was decommissioned. After decades of neglect in the fall of 2007 the lighthouse was reopened through the restoration efforts of the North Point Lighthouse Friends Inc.

North Point Lighthouse

Renovations are close to completion on Milwaukee's North Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse tower restoration was completed in Feburary 2006 with the keepers quarters exterior just recently finished. Milwaukee Lighthouses

We have added images of the Milwaukee Pierhead and Milwaukee Breakwater Lighthouses to both our Milwaukee Gallery on Lighthousestock.com and our Flickr Lighthouse Gallery. The added images were taken while on a curise aboard the tour boat Iroquois located just off of Clybourn St. at the Milwaukee River.

Milwaukee BW and PH Lighthouses

The Lighthousestock.com team was active today and found this new angle to capture the Milwaukee Breakwater and Pierhead Lighthouses. Other the yacht coming into the harbor the freighter leaving the harbor is on the way to Australia. The image has been added to our Milwaukee Lighthouse Gallery and another image was added to our Flickr Lighthouse Gallery.

New Gallery for Michael

Milwaukeestock.com has added a new gallery to Michael's Den from photographer Michael Stotler. The gallery "Lake Michigan" includes various seasonal images of this area on the coast of Milwaukee. A few images of the Milwaukee Pierhead Lighthouse are also included.
