This interesting image of three train boxcars on a set of tracks in Sussex has been added to the "MKE in HDR" gallery in our MKE General Images Collection. "Graffiti Boxcars" is another fine example of the HDR (High Dynamic Range) technique of photography. While taken outside of Milwaukee, this image shows our coverage of the S.E. WI area.
MKEimages.com Image of the Day - The construction activity continues at the Pabst Brewery redevelopment with the demolition of one of the old storage buildings. Sad to see many of the wonderful buildings that have been part of Milwaukee's landscape for years and years leave, but hopefully the legacy will continue. MKEimages.com Image of the Day - A very colorful sign on the side of the Mandel Company building on N. Martin Luther King Dr. and McKinley Ave. A 4th generation business dating back to 1892 the Mandel Company has been involved in the printing industry for over 100 years.
Once again, we would like to thank KEY Milwaukee Magazine for using one of our images on the cover of the upcoming May 2008 issue. The image was taken through a porthole on the tour boat Iroquois while traveling in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward on the Milwaukee River. As the official photographers for KEY Milwaukee we look forward to supplying additional images in the future.
MKEimages.com Image of the Day - The Wisconsin Gas Building (formally The Milwaukee Gas Light building) is located at 626 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. Designed by Eschweiler & Eschweiler this classic stepped Art Deco skyscraper was completed in 1930. On top of the building is a 21 foot tall plastic "weather flame" used to indicate weather predictions, Gold is cold, Red is warm weather ahead, Blue is no change in view, and flashing means precipitation is anticipated.

We have added an new, very interesting gallery to our MKE General Images Collection, "Milwaukee in HDR". High Dynamic Range (HDR) is a photographic technique in which you combine bracketed exposures of normal digital images resulting in an image with an exaggerated dynamic range. The images are usually more saturated than normal, giving a 3-D, surreal or painted look.
MKEimages.com Image of the Day - The grand Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee's oldest hotel, is located at 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. Designed in the Richardson Romanesque style the eight-story 150 room hotel was completed in 1893. In 1965 an expansion was completed with a eight-story parking garage and a 157 room, 13 story tower. The original facade was built with Cream City brick trimmed with terra-cotta and rusticated limestone. The original structure was built with electric elevators which was very unusual at the time.
