MKEimages.com Image of the Day - Founded in 1912, St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral at 3201 S. 51st St. is the spiritual home to a large congregation in the Milwaukee area and dedicated to the patron saint of the Serbian people, Saint Sava. This image has also been added along with a few others to the Milwaukee Churches Gallery.

MKEimages.com Image of the Day - In the middle of a cold snap and with the end a few days off we thought it would a good time to introduce a new gallery, MKE Beaches. Located on Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is fortunate to have many beaches available for various types of recreational activities. From South Shore to Bradford to Doctors the summer months bring out Milwaukeeans for volleyball, picnicing, swimming, boating, and sunbathing not to mention the annual Polar Bear Plunge every January 1st. Shown in the image is Atwater Beach in Shorewood.

Ghost Signs

The MKEimages.com "Ghost Signs" Gallery has been updated with a few new images including this one at the corner of Wisconsin Ave. and N. 27th St. The painted sign for the Randolph Hotel was recently uncovered behind a removed billboard for the hotel that was located at 649 N. 4th St. just down the street. The Randolph Hotel was built in the late 1920's and even included rooms with private baths which were quite unique at the time. The 13-story structure demolished in 1985 was turned into a city parking lot with plans for a new hotel to take its place which has not materialized. With the sign at street level on a busy corner lets hope the local residents realize its significance and respect its history.

Hill & Gully Snowmobile Rally

Looking for some antique snowmobiles, check out the "Hill & Gully Snowmobile Rally" Gallery with images from MKEimages.com photographer Randy Adamski. The Hill & Gully Snowmobile Club Vintage Snowmobile Rally took place on January 17th at Wally & Bees Last Stop Resort on Friess Lake (Hubertus) WI.
