MKEimages.com Image of the Day - Trapezoidal in design the Classic Revival architectural style Germania Building when constructed (1896) was the largest and tallest office building on Milwaukee's west side. Located at 135 W. Wells St. the structure was built as the headquarters for Die Germania the world's largest German-language newspaper at the time.

Designed by Vaughn, Meyer, & Sweet in 1915 it is part of Milwaukee's first municipally owned and operated street lighting system and was designated as a Milwaukee landmark in 1975.
