MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY

Marquette University was founded in the rich tradition of the Society of Jesus, a Catholic religious order established in 1540 by St. Ignatius Loyola. The university is named after Father Jacques Marquette (1637-1675), a French, Jesuit missionary and explorer in North America. Throughout the years, thousands of students have passed through Marquette's halls and classrooms, aspiring to achieve not only academic success, but a spiritual foundation to last a lifetime. The university is located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee and offers students a taste of the "big city" life.
