The Milwaukee River Challenge
The Milwaukee River Challenge on the Milwaukee River in downtown Milwaukee is the country’s only two-way urban regatta. The Milwaukee River Challenge winds through Downtown Milwaukee, with its halfway point in Pere Marquette Park (between State St. and Kilbourn Ave.). Spectators gather not only in the park, but also on downtown bridges and skywalks or at restaurants along the RiverWalk. The 2.2 mile course runs from the Historic Third Ward to Humboldt Avenue near Brady St. and the four- and eight-member men’s and women’s crews must race in both directions.
