MILWAUKEE - CHURCHES
Milwaukee was once commonly known as the "City of Steeples" because of the many church steeples that punctuate the Milwaukee skyline. As new groups of immigrants arrived in Milwaukee, they founded churches so they could worship in their own language. Each ethnic group designed its churches in styles that reminded them of home. In this set of images are the hopes of inspiring greater appreciation for the rich beauty and diversity of Milwaukee's ecclesiastical architecture.
