MILWAUKEE - LIGHTHOUSES
Located on shoals, craggy bluffs, or fingers of land, these majestic lake & ocean sentinels in all of their splendor are both steeped in history and architectural delights. Colorful facades to the folklore and mysteries surrounding these welcoming beacons, lighthouses are truly unique photographic subjects.
Milwaukee is fortunate to have not only one but three lighthouses that have served as navigational aids for commercial and recreational sailors. Being a major shipping port on the Great Lakes these Milwaukee lighthouses have brought home many a sailor through adverse weather conditions for over 100 years. The gallery features images of the Milwaukee Pierhead, Breakwater, and North Point Lighthouses.
